WELCOME
We are thrilled to welcome CJ and Sheree Wakefield as our lead ministry couple of the Cape Town Church of Christ. They started with us in August, and we’re so grateful they said yes to the move. As a church, we believe God has made it clear that they are our ministry couple. We’re excited about the wisdom, experience and heart they bring, and we can’t wait to see what God will do through them here.
CJ and Sheree have been married for over 25 years and have three sons. For more than two decades, they have served together in church leadership and in the education sector across London (UK), Scotland, Tennessee (USA), Los Angeles (USA), and now here in Cape Town.
CJ has been an evangelist since 1999. In addition to his years as a minister, he has taught and led as a high school teacher (philosophy, sociology, and religion) and as a department head. Sheree was recognised as a women’s ministry leader in 2000 and holds an MA in Leadership & Management. Before going into the ministry, she managed a team in the UK transport industry. Prior to her recent ministry role in LA, she taught at and managed a faculty in the UK further education sector.
The Wakefields study and teach spiritual formation and emotional maturity. They are sincere about growing as apprentices of Jesus and helping others to do the same. We look forward to their leadership and friendship, and to getting to know them and their family better.
